(New York) – Indonesia’s foreign minister should stress to Burma’s military government that drastic reforms are needed if the elections this year are to be credible, Human Rights Watch said in a letter today to Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa, who is visiting Burma on March 30. A throng of reporters surrounded Sen. Lindsey Graham as he walked at his normal warp speed through the byzantine tunnels beneath the U.S. Capitol. U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint , R-S.C, said Sunday he hopes to repeal healthcare legislation and replace it with “real reform that puts patients in charge” of their care. The state’s budget problems far outweigh any other issues that will come up in the legislative session that starts Monday, lawmakers and other government officials say, but solving them won’t be easy. |
